Avalokiteshvara, Chaturbhuja - Standing (Tibetan: chen re zi, chag shi pa. English: the All Seeing Lord with Four Hands), the bodhisattva of compassion from the Terma, Revealed Treasure lineage known as the Longchen Nyingtig, of the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism as recorded by Jigme Lingpa (1729-1798). White and peaceful, he holds upraised a bead mala and a white lotus blossom. The main pair of hands placed at the heart cradle a wishing jewel. In a standing posture encircled by radiant light he is accompanied by four wrathful male deities and four peaceful, or semi-peaceful, female deities.
四臂观音是雪域西藏的守护神,藏人由老至幼家家户户,皆吟诵其六字大明咒:“嗡嘛呢叭咪吽”。广大藏蒙佛教徒还把达赖喇嘛奉为观音化身,四臂观音舆文殊菩萨、金刚手菩萨,合称三族姓尊。代表大悲、大智、大力,为密乘行者人人必修的法门。 (以上摘自“龘藏”)

Avalokiteshvara, Chaturbhuja (Tibetan: chen re zi, chag shi pa. English: the All Seeing Lord with Four Hands). There are several forms of Lokeshvara with four hands but the earliest and most famous is the Three Deity Chaturbhuja originating in the Karandavyuha Sutra, also famous for the first use of the six syllable mantra - om mani padme hum.
