The 9th Karmapa, Wangchug Dorje, does not have a standardised iconograhic appearance. Sometime he can be confused with Karma Pakshi when both figures have the hands extended across both knees. In this instance, Karma Pakshi will have a short beard on the chin, a goatee. Wangchug Dorje does not wear a goatee. A number of the sculpture in this gallery have inscriptions written around the base or on the back of the work.
